Satan’s Strategy On Problems . . .
so that Satan will not outsmart us. For we are very familiar with his evil schemes. 2 Cor. 2:11 (NLT)
THREE LIES OF THE DEVIL
1. YOU SHOULDN’T HAVE THIS PROBLEM
Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. 1 Peter 4:12 (NIV)
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." John 16:33
My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials James 1:2
Satan’s Goal: SELF-PITY
The truth: We live in a fallen world and we will have problems
2. NOTHING GOOD CAN COME FROM THIS PROBLEM
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28
Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
2 Cor. 12:10 (ESV)
knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. James 1:3-4
Satan’s Goal: DEPRESSION
The truth: God can redeem these problems for the Christian.
3. YOU ARE POWERLESS IN FACE OF THIS PROBLEM
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. James 1:5-8
Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me.
But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." 2 Cor. 12:8-9 (ESV)
Call on me in times of trouble. I will rescue you, and you will honor me." Psalm 50:15 (GW)
Satan’s Goal: FEAR
The truth: God has promised His help in the time of trouble
