Bloom Where You Are Planted
This Sunday morning I will be preaching a sermon in conjunction with the below mentioned movie. We will see that it was God's grace that allowed William Wilberforce to be in the right place at the right time and it was God's grace the prepared him for a life in politics that would bring glory to God. Does God have you right where He wants you? Join us for Bloom Where You Are Planted

Amazing Grace Movie
We will be showing the last half of the movie Amazing Grace Sunday night August 22 6 PM. I hope you will mark this on your calendar and plan to be a part of this event. It is the thrilling story William Wilberforce and how God used him to stop the slave trade in England. This is a classic example of the Zach Effect, how inward change resulted in outward action. A nursery and class for small children will be provided. Parents are cautioned that some of the facts about the slave trade are difficult for small children to understand and accept. The Zach Effect Part Two

Pastor's Update 08.12.10

PASTOR'S UPDATE                            Faith Baptist Covington, VA

We will be showing the movie Amazing Grace  over two Sunday nights  August (15 and  22) 6 PM.  I hope you will mark this on your calendar and plan to be a part of this event.  It is the thrilling story William Wilberforce and how God used him to stop the slave trade in England.  This is a classic example of the Zach Effect, how inward change resulted in outward action.  Because of the length of the movie we will be breaking it up into two parts.  A nursery and class for small children will be provided.  Parents are cautioned that some of the facts about the slave trade are difficult for small children to understand and acceptOfficial Movie Web Site

Ahead of the movie the next two Sunday nights, Chris and I will be giving messages in the morning services that will center around God's grace to us. This Sunday Chris's message is "An Amazing Grace." He will be focusing on Romans 3 and 6.  Romans 3 clearly presents the verdict that all are guilty of sin before God. However, instead of getting a punishment fitting for our crimes, we are able to receive mercy and grace through Jesus and His sacrifice. Romans 6 shows us what our response to such a grace should be. I hope you will be sure to come and allow God to work in your life through His Word.
