PASTOR'S UPDATE
No Wednesday service at Faith this week, we are joining the congregation of Covington Bible Church at the Covington High school auditorium Thursday at 7 PM. Official Web Site
I will have the second sermon in a two part series this Sunday. We saw last Sunday that inward change is shown by outward action, this is the Zach Effect. This week we are going to see how this plays out in real life from Ephesians Chapter Four. Hope you can join us for the conclusion of this series.
We will be showing the movie Amazing Grace over two Sunday nights in August. I hope you will mark this on your calendar and plan to be a part of this event. It is the thrilling story William Wilberforce and how God used him to stop the slave trade in England. This is a classic example of the Zach Effect, how inward change resulted in outward action. Because of the length of the movie we will be breaking it up into two parts. A nursery and class for small children will be provided. Parents are cautioned that some of the facts about the slave trade are difficult for small children to understand and accept. Official Movie Web Site

August 3 is the actual birth date of Faith Baptist Church. This year the official celebration will take place on the second Sunday in September. We are looking forward to a great time with the people we love our church family. That first Sunday morning before anything started I went and prayed by the Jackson river there at the "Hut" and asked God just to give me some people to preach to and to minister to, how thankful I was for the fifty people who showed up that first Sunday. And how thankful I am for Sunday in and Sunday out have great folks like you to preach to each week. God has been good and carved out a ministry here in the mountains of Virginia, help us celebrate and thank God for 35 years of blessings.
- Hope to see you Sunday
